Role: Senior Software Engineer – Options Trading

Location: Chicago (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to $250,000 USD + Discretionary Bonus!

We are currently working with a highly successful and technically sophisticated proprietary trading firm to recruit a Senior Software Engineer to join its options trading team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced C#/.NET engineer with strong desktop application development experience to work directly alongside quantitative researchers, traders and experienced technologists in a fast-paced algorithmic trading environment!

The role will include:

\n
• Designing, building, testing and maintaining data-intensive desktop applications and reusable libraries using C# and modern .NET.
\n
• Developing and maintaining highly reliable systems supporting mission-critical trading applications .
\n
• Profiling and improving application performance across rendering, memory usage, concurrency, reactive data pipelines and application startup .
\n
• Owning software throughout its full lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through automated testing, deployment, staged rollout and production support .
\n
• Building high-performance applications that directly support and enhance the firm's options trading strategies and trading technology .
\n

You will be an integral member of an algorithmic trading team comprising experienced technologists, quantitative researchers and traders!

Requirements:

\n
• 5+ years of professional software development experience , with substantial experience building C#/.NET applications.
\n
• Strong experience developing desktop applications and user interfaces using C#/.NET .
\n
• A thorough understanding of C# UI development and associated tooling .
\n
• Strong understanding of software architecture, application performance and engineering best practices.
\n
• Experience working with concurrency, reactive data pipelines, memory optimisation or performance profiling would be highly advantageous.
\n

Previous experience within trading, financial markets or quantitative environments would be advantageous, but isn't necessarily essential. The key requirement is exceptional software engineering ability combined with an interest in building technology that directly impacts a trading business!
